Launched circa July 2007 with its origins from WP.com, Atarashii Prelude was founded by gaiden. The intended content for the blog was going to be nothing more than personal entries with some anime episode summaries on the side, and that was how it remained until a certain big break came along. With the response from that post, the authors were inspired to turn the blog into something much more.

With its name derived from the lyrics of Nodame Cantabile opening theme song, as suggested by gaiden, the site you see now has a new purpose; bringing you diverse otaku content, be it episodic reviews of anime or just nonsensical and occasionally lighthearted articles regarding the subculture itself.

We’re constantly tweaking the blog and introducing new features as we’re still relatively new to the scene, so do pardon the typos, errors and general messiness of the site itself ^^;

Shin

Depraved and often neurotic, Shin is an otaku who has transcended the boundaries of simple fanboyism to absolute compulsive obsession when it comes to his favorite subject matter(most of the times anyway). He draws his inspiration listening the water trickle from the tap in his bathroom, whose favorite anime include Boku no Pico and Bible Black. You can find Shin lurking about in IRC with the username Shin_Asuka and forums as Shinn87.

Evern

Malaysian born Gaijin who’s somewhat new to anime, Evern started his addiction much thanks to Shin during the release of anime from Winter 2006. Starting off as a total newbie who knew nothing, he spent most of his time watching mainstream anime such as Naruto & Bleach(urgh). Soon, he was introduced to other titles, including Full Metal Panic and Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Evern’s favourite anime are currently Blood+, Shakugan no Shana, Ichigo 100% and Code Geass.
