Word Of The Day : Ronery

Lonely. A word used by people imitating stereotypical asians that are lonely. L's are pronounced R's like "Herro", or "Rittre".
Said by Kim Jong Il in the movie Team America: World Police by the creators of South Park.

Kenko Zenrakei Sueibu Umisho
When someone told me this was on swimming lessons, two things came into mind: This, and the thought of an homo erotic sports anime featuring bishies in Speedos. Thankfully, it was neither, although the show does feature a flamboyant, gay-but-not-quite-there-yet pervert of a swimming club captain.(more on that later).
Yes, it is about swimming, but none of that gay shit. Basically it tells the story of Kaname Okimura, the manager of the school swimming club, who ironically is afraid of swimming due to a traumatic experience he suffered as a child involving a mermaid-like creature he encountered.
All's well until one day, an eccentric happy-go-lucky transfer student from Okinawa by the name of Amuro Ninagawa joins the club, amazing everyone with her unorthodox swimming abilities and "healthy body"

Damn cover words!

Yes she does!

Obligatory punching-to-sky scene impending...
Yup, as you've guessed it this show has lots of fanservice(not so surprising given the nature of the show), which is one of the reasons I like it(obviously), apart from the comedy of course. Amuro never ceases to make my pants me happy with her cheerful and energetic personality. Then of course, there's the tsundere ace of the swimming club, Orizuka Momoko and the seemingly innocent but in truth "naughty"(to put it lightly) sexbomb Shizuoka Mirei, and Ikuta Maki,a first year student who serves as the loli character for the show(I guess) who are also members of the aforementioned club, in addition to the other girls that have yet to be introduced and the small number of males of the club(including Kaname) who I won't bother to introduce, other than the captain Ikariya Masa, whose insanely hyped up and perverse nature is worth noting.

Japan sure love their marine wildlife!

That makes two of us, Makio-chan!
The first 3 episodes are just basically character introduction episodes, although the club takes part in a meet in episode 3(which they lost) and it gives insight into how good Amuro's swimming abilities really are.
Well, that's pretty much what the show has in store for us so far, and you can bet I'll be following this series till the end(since there's so many other girls left in the show to fap to). An interesting subject topic laden with ecchi and comedy makes this one of the better shows for me this summer. Shin out.
Claymore 16
Yes, I know I had only posted one entry so far. ^^;; Therefore, this is my very first attempt on writing an entry for anime. It's going to be really hard for me. T~T Hope yuu don't mind if it's banal. :P

Episode 16 starts with Clare arriving at the mountains of Zakol. While checking around the place and the many rods around her that emit those faint yoki, she was attacked unaware by four small-fry yoma.

Of course, as usual she slashed three of them off without breaking much sweat.

The remained one tried to escape upon realizing that Clare is superior against him. However, he only ended up got crushed to death by Duff. Duff couldn't move much except for waist to top as the cave was pretty narrow. Clare's first attempt to slash his face didn't work as Duff has armour-like tough skin. She attempted again with multi-slash trying to break through the "armour". Duff then caught her sword with his eyelid! He then accidentally released the sword and Clare dashed forward to grab hold of it. Clare then unleashed the quick sword.

We get to see and hear more of Riful in this episode. The scene move back to the bottom of the ruin-like cave. Riful was judging the situation between Duff and Clare with her yoki detection. A short conversation exchanged between Jeane and her.
It is quite sad to see Claymores being dismissed of their being as a human when they claimed themselves as so. Even though they are half-yoma and half-human, they were originally human and they had been fighting on the side of the human. However, in the perspective of normal human, they are seen as monster and often they would choose not to meet any Claymores if possible even though they are protected by them.

The scene goes back to Clare and Duff. Duff managed to hit Clare with his rods and crushed her bones. Just when he was about to strip her, Galatea appeared.
I had been waiting very long for her appearance. I like how cool she displayed herself when she walked away from the shadow manly (yes, I know majority of the Claymores had been really cold and manly too).

I like how the effect used in the anime when Galatea aligned her yoki with Duff to control his action. I also like the scene where she walked off calmly and slowly, carrying Clare in her arms while Duff tried to hit her with rods consecutively. Of course, none of them hit her. Duff then hit some rocks on top to closed the opening to prevent them from leaving. Galatea's attitude amused me a little when she sarcastically commented that Duff's brain appeared to be functioning. LOL.

Bravo! Galatea found Duff's weak point and attacked.

Clare is amazed with Galatea's ability and acknowledged her strength and rank as single digit.

Galatea in a pinch after Duff was given hint by Riful on how to hit effectively.

Galatea received the first blow of the rod.

I get very excited to see Clare going over the limit even though her turning back is predictably. I am always expecting what sort of skills will be unleased upon going over the limit and also the reaction of those who doesn't know about being able to return to normal after surpassing the limit.

The three Abyssal Ones from North, West and South. It would be awesome to see the three of them fighting each other at the same time. Sadly, that scene is not going to realize. :(

Omg, Priscilla!

Kiss the ground Clare if yuu don't behave nicely!

I like to see them releasing their yoki to increase their strength and speed even though their appearance turned into a little beastily.

I should feel very anxious watching the part where Jeane is fighting to hold back from releasing her yoki. However, reading the manga in advance really spoils all the fun. :( But luckily that does not kill all the suspense. I can still feel it gripping me a little at the end of the episode even though knowing what will happen next. Perhaps it is because I am just thirsting for more. :P

Clare arriving at the bottom of the "chamber" and is shocked with what she seen.

As yuu can notice, I kinda stop elaborating with the plot of the episode. Hahah. I guess that approach is really dry. I will try another way of writing next entry. ;)

Word Of The Day : Weaboo

A negative term directed to anyone overly obsessed with Japanese culture to the point where they become annoying.Used frequently on the image boards of 4chan.
Most weaboos are uneducated about their obsession of choice and are often noobs who are overly zealous, trying to impress others with their otaku knowledge. Another trait of a weaboo is their desire to "be Japanese".
While the two terms are often fused together, weaboos are very different from anime fans or enthusiasts. A fan may be just as enthusiastic and knowlegable
about Japanese culture, mainly anime, but they neither boast about their knowledge nor call themselves otaku(because of its known negative connatation). - UrbanDictionary.com
Overdrive
Unlike the many other "popular" animes brought in this spring, Overdrive starts off at a rather slow pace. This show begins with a high-school kid, Mikoto Shinozaki, whose been used to getting bullied around and running errands for a group of high-school gangsters. Although a coward as he is, like other teens he's been keeping an eye on a girl he has known since middle school, Fukazawa Yuki.

Shinozaki being forced into treating lunch by school gangsters.

Fukazawa Yuki, a carefree and mischievous girl who Shinozaki has a crush on.
However, after being introduced to the cycling club and a few words of encouragement by Yuki, he is obsessed in gaining her affection. He then takes up the challenge by first learning how to ride a bicycle. Along with it, he's determined to change into a stronger character by standing resolute against the bullies.

Determined to change?

Making a stand!
After successfully making a stand, Shinozaki quickly finds his growing interest in cycling. He excitingly concluded that he would one day enter an international stage of road racing along with his newly found club pioneers Fukazawa Yousuke and Terao.

Some sort of affection?

More excitement to be expected!
Although the show progresses at a slow rate compared to other sports based animes, it is much expected to pick up towards the middle of this series. After all, this isn't the first anime to start off slow and reach its peak past halfway of the series. Evern out.
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann – 17
If Gurren Lagann was a girl, I want to marry her. That's how much I love this awesome series. Fast forward into the future seven years, or year 7 AK(After Kamina) if you will, after the fall of Lord Genome, we see the humans finally living in peace on the surface in the capital city of Kamina. There is so much to cover in this episode alone that I have no clue where to begin, but I'll cover whatever I can.

Princess Nia, as beautiful as ever 7 years on. Wonder if her cooking has improved since...

Rossiu isn't convinced....
Well for one, the technology has drastically advanced since then that people live in suburbs and apartments similiar to today's world, with gadgets like the television, radio and even cellphones.

To think these people were either nomads or living underground just 7 years ago...
Of course, this peace doesn't last and we get a first glimpse of trouble, when the now immortal Viral dukes it out with Grapals (a new type of Ganmens made by the humans) and is defeated by Darry and Gimmy, the two kids who left their village along with Rossiu who are now formidable warriors. Interestingly enough, Viral is fighting to protect the very humans he once despised, who are being evicted from their homes beneath the surface, under the orders of Rossiu. Viral tells Simon he is no different from Lord Genome, shocking the latter. Simon then questions Rossiu's actions, creating a verbal conflict between the two.

Alignment: Lawful Evil
The shit hits the fan the moment the human population hits the 1,000,000 mark as forewarned by Lord Genome, when an unknown mecha originating from the moon descends upon the city and wreaks havoc, killing thousands. The Grapals launch, to engage the new enemy without much effect. Simon then arrives to take it out, but unfortunately the impending explosion causes collateral damage that destroys everything within a large radius. Rossiu, who was against Simon's decision to engage the enemy then places the commander in chief under martial arrest. As if that wasn't bad enough, the arrival of the new nemesis also triggers some sort of reaction within Nia who is now taken over and is now the messenger of the Han-Rasen, an anti spiral race(whatever that means) which probably means more people are going to die. Oh shit. Shin out.

The Destroyer Cometh.
Looking Kinda Cool!
Speculations on the Akatsuki's leader's identity finally came to a grinding halt when he is revealed for the very first time in chapter 363.

At first glance, our man here looks like a very mature looking Naruto with piercings everywhere, with swirly eyes to boot. Oh well, so much for the Yondaime being the leader theories then, although I wish Kishimoto would have been more creative and not make him look so similar to the titular character. Of course, now all eyes will be on the person who is giving the Akatsuki orders(and that lady Akatsuki member). Let the speculations begin once again! Shin out.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai – 03
This episode serves as a prelude to events of the Watanagashi festival where Rika will be killed yet again. As it was last season, we bear witness to things that take place a few days before that faithful day, cheerful little events that heavily contrast the gruesome fate that will befall our cute little Rika, who despite knowing the outcome, puts on a brave front and takes everything to stride.

Hauu~ Omochikaeri!

Just As Keikaku* Translator's Note: Keikaku means plan.

Thus spoke Keiichi, hero amongst men.
Interestingly enough, we get to see Rika having a conversation with Hanyuu(voiced by Yui Horie) who is like a ghost/guardian angel that is with her all the time on her inevitable fate. Having said that, despite being the solution arc, I don't know how they are going to tie things up so I guess we'll leave that for next week. Shin out.
