Renowned South East Asian concept art and illustration studio, Imaginary Friends Studios will be making their presence felt at the upcoming Comic Fiesta 2008. Founded by a group of established artists in 2008, IFS has 30 artists under their wing across Asia and Europe, providing concept art for companies like Square Enix, Sony Online Entertainment, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts and many more. Founder, Artgem, will also be at the event, providing insight on what it's like to work in the industry. Aspiring artists can bring their portfolio for review as IFS will be at the Portfolio Pavilion, while attendees can purchase their artbook. Slowpoke is slowpoke but please bear with me as i had just discovered this here Fembot. It was brought to my attention in the random segment of The Situation Room on CNN which i just watched minutes earlier. This is one step for robotics and one giant leap to the extinction of humans. Heck, she even cosplays as Chi, slaps you when you grope her, and generally acts like any normal female would when you ask her to lick your feet. Which is GTFO. Anyway, what i am trying to convey is that my dream of a robot waifu suddenly seems plausible. Now if only the creator would make a loli version of fembots.

Otherwise known as Dennou Figure ARis, this augmented reality figure was released by Geisha Tokyo Entertainment back in October, allowing users to interact with a three dimensional figure that takes the shape of a rather adorable maid who goes by the name of Alice. Innovation or gimmick? More after the jump.

Contrary to the claims of a certain someone who has forsaken St. Ranka for the new religion of Nagiism I find my one and only Saint even in other mangas. The holy scripture of the Interstellar Flight recited here by the esteemed Takako here is proof that Rankaism is still growing strong and it has cemented her place as my favourite character in Kannagi. Forget "no longer a virgin" Nagi, "shameless slut" Zange, or "Too shy shy girl" Tsugumi. Takako "Fujoshi" senpai is where the goods really are. 
HK CityU AkiFest 2008 Cosplays – Shana

Well, this doujin market took place back in early October, but I was too lazy to bother writing a post.
In terms of scale, it was much smaller than the one I went to earlier, so there wasn't actually much interesting doujin which I haven't already seen in the other one. Besides, I came mainly to take photos of the cosplayers. (Not to mention I tried to find a website for this event, but it's already taken down. )
Anime Festival Asia – Day 01

So nice to be down south yet again, barely 6 months since the last time I was here for a different event, which was similar in scale(same place even), but hardly relevant to my interests, though in retrospect, it was really my fault for having the wrong set of expectations to begin with, but I digress. That said, and being a pessimist, I was a little wary and didn't want to hope too much out of this event, though I can happily say now that it was nothing but unwarranted apprehension.
