Wry yu take away animu?

For those who keeping tabs on the anime blogging scene, the ODEX vs ANIME FANS case in Singapore should not come off as anything new nor surprising. Their latest victim this time is a 9 year old kid, although it's not mentioned what he downloaded(probably the similiar stuff the others with caught with, namely Naruto, Bleach, D.Gray Man and whatnot. And you haven't noticed already, all Singapore based anime blogs are kinda slow on their updates these days no thanks to Odex. As fellow fans, we can only wish our brothers and sisters from the island republic the best of luck. Shin out. :<

Word Of The Day : Ronery

Posted by Shin

Lonely. A word used by people imitating stereotypical asians that are lonely. L's are pronounced R's like "Herro", or "Rittre".

Said by Kim Jong Il in the movie Team America: World Police by the creators of South Park.

"I'm so ronery, so ronery, so ronery and sadry arone." -UrbanDictionary.com

Word Of The Day : Weaboo

Posted by Shin

A negative term directed to anyone overly obsessed with Japanese culture to the point where they become annoying.Used frequently on the image boards of 4chan.

Most weaboos are uneducated about their obsession of choice and are often noobs who are overly zealous, trying to impress others with their otaku knowledge. Another trait of a weaboo is their desire to "be Japanese".

While the two terms are often fused together, weaboos are very different from anime fans or enthusiasts. A fan may be just as enthusiastic and knowlegable
about Japanese culture, mainly anime, but they neither boast about their knowledge nor call themselves otaku(because of its known negative connatation). - UrbanDictionary.com

Hot Summer, Lukewarm Shows(?)

Posted by Shin

Unlike the high profile nature of spring, the shows this summer, at first glance doesn't seem to be all that exciting, save a few of them. Let's take a sneak peek at some of the animes Japan has in store for us this July.

Code Geass 24 & 25

Serving as the final episodes for the first season, it'd be interesting to see how they'll end this great show, although I pretty much ruined the excitement for myself by reading magazine spoilers, lawl.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai

One of more interesting shows of last year, we finally get a proper sequel, which incidentally has been giving a higher budget this time around (That probably means we'll see less of those bad(ass) animation during certain scenes. Judging from what I've read, the entire show will be those so-called "solution arcs" that explain the mysteries and dead-ends from the previous season.

Zero no Tsukaima 2: Futatsuki no Kishi

Probably my most anticipated show in summer, for obvious reasons (OH GOD, LOUISE IS HOT!!!11). The second season will feature a slew of new characters that include Louise's sisters, from initial perceptions, another tsundere and a gentile MILF-like character (voiced by Inoue Kikoku of Belldandy fame). Expect more of the same brand of comedy, ecchi and sadomasochism that made the first season so endearing.

School Days

Based on the visual novel of the same name, this is yet another harem/romance/school life/drama anime. However, having said that, you can kind of tell this is pretty neat stuff despite coming from that overcrowded genre. Unlike most harem leads that harbor their true feelings and pick their girl of choice towards the end of the show, our protagonist has already confessed to his dream girl and was accepted (the last time I saw this happening was in Ichigo 100%). Obviously to make the show more interesting, their relationship doesn't go all too well, with the main guy's good friend, who helps him get his girl in the first place also falls for him. What would really be interesting though is whether or not they incorporate any of the bad endings from the game(which made it so popular in the first place, apart from the fact the entire game is animated) into the anime.

Doujin Work

From the acclaimed doujin artist EPIC EXPRESSIONS Hiroyuki comes a hilarious anime based on his latest 4koma work about the life of an upstart female doujinshi artist who wants to make a fortune publishing these fan made mangas. Not much else to talk about this show of great potential(the fact it's so excruciatingly short doesn't help either) other than the fact it gives an abstract view of the doujin scene in Japan and contains much lulz

Well, that pretty much covers the first impressions of the shows for me this season, although I'll be keeping tabs on shows like Umisho, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Zombie Loan, for watch out for future posts. Shin out.

Another anime blog!

Posted by gaiden

Welcome to Atarashii Prelude.

This blog is manage by me (gaiden) and Shin.

We both love anime very much and decided to start an anime blog just for self-satisfaction. We know there are heaps of good anime blogs out there but this will be our own style and way to express our interest.

For the time being, I know the blog looks very plain. We will try to improve as much as we can on the layout (not much can be done actually except for the banner).

Anyone who came by, we hope that you enjoy your stay here.

Cheers!
