Before I even realized it, a year has passed since this site was founded by my senior and co-founder, gaiden, which also marks the anniversary of my very first foray into blogging of any kind. I finally caved in to the hype and after reading the FAQ, I felt more compelled than ever before to participate in the inaugural Anime Blog Awards, spearheaded by Impz and his motley crew of fellow bloggers. I knew about this several weeks back although I didn’t give it much thought(Evern didn’t even tell me that he registered lawl wut). However, after watching their promotional video, I felt I just should just loosen up and join in the fun.

It just had to happen. Upgrading to Wordpress 2.5 during April 1st is as big a mistake as trying to talk sense into yaoi fangirls. The database got messed up along the way, and the only way to reverse the damage was to reinstall everything over again. And with the XML exporting system as buggy as ever, a lot of the links are now messed up ＿|￣|○ The extent of the damage can be seen on the site itself, and right now I’m trying to fix whatever I can. Yes, it’s an April Fool’s joke, but this time around, it’s at my own expense ＿|￣|○

I recently got an email by a certain Dirk Haas from Brussels who’s doing a research as part of his thesis on the perceptions of what people have on anime depending on their culture. Sounds interesting enough. Here’s the rest of his message:

I ask you now if you could “lent” me twenty minutes of your time, to improve the number of Asian responses I got so far. I would be very grateful to you. Furthermore, I started the research a month ago, so the time I got to conduct the research is dwindling, and I would want (have to) start calculating the results, and write the thesis. So I don’t have the time anymore to put up some links and wait for responses. That’s why I ask you here if you could just visit my website, and respond to the questionnaire
which is displayed there.
