Of Death Note And Other Live Action AdaptationsPosted by: Shin in Death Note, tags: Lulz, Movies, Omake
Old news, but I read with great interest about how they finally brought the Death Note live action movie to US shores a few days ago. Even if the first movie’s extremely old, I’m guessing that there are still some people who might be interested in catching it in theatres, if they haven’t already done so through alternative sources. The problem however, is that the entire movie will be dubbed in English.

Kara no Kyoukai: The Garden Of Sinners Chapter OnePosted by: Shin in Kara no Kyoukai, tags: Bricks Shat, GAR, Movies
Admittedly, I jumped into this equipped with only minimal TYPE-MOON knowledge, though that hasn’t exactly stopped me as a casual fan from enjoying this epic adaptation of the light novel by ufotable. Despite being reassured from reading other reviews on how this is the best TYPE-MOON production to date, it wasn’t much of an indication considering how Tsukihime is considered to be non-existent by certain quarters, and Fate/Stay Night being sub-par at best by those who played the game beforehand. After watching the first of the seven chapter movie, not only were my doubts quelled, I was left in awe towards the end, craving for more.

Toei lawl. The first thing you’d notice from watching this is how the artwork pales in comparison to Kyoto Animation’s. For the most part, it’s still tolerable, and the fact the character designs are so QUALITY, allows for exaggerated, comedic expressions that will look out of place in the television series. Other changes include alterations to the storyline that would leave you guffawing in bewilderment and scratching your head. Did I mention how ugly the Dangos here look?
Stumbled on this article while surfing the net that’s apparently an announcement on a possible Gurren Lagann movie. Since I don’t comprehend moon runes, I had the ever reliable Hoshi-kun translate it for me, albeit directly, which I will now quote directly from our IM conversation: TV anime broadcast “Our house`s Inari(Fox Deity)[?]”.

With the movie out sometime next summer, a special The Making Of was aired recently, giving audience a behind the scenes look on the project. Since I don’t get half of what they’re saying, I’ll just post caps instead ^^; |
