THIS IS HOROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Lawrence and Horo are still fleeing from their pursuers in the labyrinth-like sewers but after several near misses including one where Horo scares off the hunting dogs with her fearsome growl, Lawrence suddenly finds himself being ambushed and stabbed in the arm. Despite managing to take out person who did it, the wounds inflicted on Lawrence was too deep, and it didn’t take long for him to pass out from blood loss.

Fortunately, it doesn’t take long for Lawrence to recover and get back on his knees. The pursuers show no sign of relent, forcing him to stagger to find the exit, as apparently Horo quite literally sensed light at the end of the tunnel. Alas, when they reached their destination, it turned out to be bottom of an abandoned well, meaning no way out. Whoops. To make matters worse, the search party arrives, and unsurprisingly Chloe is with them.

Here, it is revealed that Chloe does indeed have some connections with the Medioh company regarding the silver coin conspiracy. Just as it was the last time, Chloe once again offers Lawrence to partake in her business plan, but keeping true to his word for Horo, he declines, much to the her annoyance. Expressing regret, Chloe gives the order for Lawrence to be killed and Horo to be captured. Before anyone could do anything, Horo knocks Lawrence down and takes a bite at the fresh wounds.

With the blood she consumed, Horo awakens and reverts to her true self. All hell breaks loose as the wolf god rampages her pursuers, although merely incapacitating them. Looks like she lost all the bloodlust after interacting with humans for too long :< When the dust has settled, the only one left standing is Chloe, and from the viewer’s perspective, Horo was about to devour her, when Lawrence suddenly calls out to her. Chloe is left unharmed, and Horo takes the opportunity to leave the place, only to have Lawrence stop her again. Although she hesitates for that one moment, his cries for her to stay falls on deaf ears, as she silently bids him farewell.

Lawrence regains consciousness and himself half naked inside then Milone Branch Manager’s room. It turns out Horo was by his side until help came along, but her whereabouts at that point after that is unknown. Being the business minded person that he is, Lawrence changes the subject and inquires on the progress of the dealings, although the profits from it was much lower than he had anticipated. On the plus side, Medioh now wants the rights to deal, and is willing to obtain it legally, offering a handsome sum for it. The branch manager asks Lawrence what he would like as a reward, to which the latter replies “Pepper.” This prompts the manager to tell Lawrence an anecdote regarding demons and spices, which was amusing, to say the least, and somehow related to the latter.

A letter arrives, and in it was an invoice addressed to Lawrence. Upon glancing at it, he quickly jumps out of his bed and rushes to the unloading place. As while he is running, Lawrence mentions all the items that were purchased, to which he immediately knew who had ordered them. He reaches his destination, and there she was, large as life and twice and natural. Lawrence and Horo renew their vows to one another, and the sight of this leads the branch manager to utter the words “Wolf and Spice, huh?

Probably the most eventful episode so far, as for an anime only character, Chloe does have a major role in the series, and surprisingly enough, as a antagonist. Now that Horo has taught her a lesson, it would be interesting to see if Chloe will show up in the later episodes, although it does seem that way, as how she mentioned how unfair the gods were. This would probably lead to some backstory for this character. Also interesting was seeing Horo awaken and whooping everyone about, although I had expected she would look larger and more fearsome than that. Shin out
