The iDOLM@STER 16: Doggy Dog World

Nobody wants to be friends with Hibiki because she smells of animal poop :cry:

Even at its worst, The iDOLM@STER remains very watchable, although it is kind of difficult for me to contain my disappointment in regard to this episode. I guess the bar was raised way too high last week and something above average like this would have had paled in comparison either way. Then again, I should have known that any episode that kicks off with Chihaya could only mean that the rest of it would go downward spiraling. Seems to me that the only reason they even showed those flashbacks was to fill up time since they did not even bother to flesh it out, denying Hibiki precious seconds off her own episode :cry:

As you would expect from a Hibiki episode, much of the focus was on her zoo and the specimens that populated it. My favourite is definitely the crocodile as it somehow manages to inconspicuously blend in with the other animals despite being the only carnivore in the group. While it is easy for me to imagine the rest of the critters hitchhiking their way from the city to save Hibiki, having a big lizard tag along just seems all too strange even by this show's standards w Rest of it played out rather predictably otherwise. I feel bad for you Hibiki fans; As a supporting character she is fun to watch, but when made the focus, this was the best they could muster :oops:

    I am SO MAD AT THIS EPISODE. OH MY GOD. FINALLY MAIWAIFU GETS AN EPISODE ALL TO HERSELF AND IT’S COVERED WITH THIS JUPITER SHIT. SHOW ME ANOTHER CHARACTER IN ANIME WHO GETS A PERSONAL EPISODE AND SPENDS 90% OF IT STUCK UNDER SOME CLIFF. 961 IS ROTTEN TO THE CORE HOW DARE THEY POPULATE MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL CARTOONS WITH THEIR JUSTIN BEIBER FILTH. FUCKING DROPPED.

      Did a little digging and found out why Hibiki’s episode sucked as bad as it did:

      The animation was outsourced to a studio that does stuff like Cardfight Vanguard, while the director of this episode has only done a few episodes of Shikabane Hime and Raildex ww

    I have a soft spot for big dogs, OK episode for me.

    I want that spineless guy that dropped Hibiki out of her episode being gang raped by black Gundams.

      I guess if it’s any consolation, Jupiter themselves are pretty chill. Once they figure out Kuroi’s plans they might just compete with the girls based on talent alone. Still waiting for Jupiter to start styling on everyone :mad:

      Hibiki just isn’t popular enough to get more than a single episode for her family (or lack thereof) issues to be ironed out, so they just gave her a token animal friend episode and called it a day :cry:

    9 minutes into the episode we fujoshi have the proof that Broducer and Touma will become gay for each other. Look how tsundere Touma acts towards Broducer at the end of those emotional 30 seconds! This episode didn’t have any other reason to be; Hibiki was there just as an excuse and let’s not get into Chihaya’s useless emo moments (wtf they added that if this is Broducer and Touma’s passionate first encounter?? Preposterous!)

    Indeed, for most of the episode I was more concerned with the fact that Hibiki’s alligator managed to get along so well with so many potential “food”. :roll:

    A-1 is probably going to let this Chihaya sub-plot brew for a while longer.

    In the meantime, our favourite tomboy Makoto finally gets her own episode. Who will she end up with? Yukiho or Miki? Can’t wait. :razz:
