The iDOLM@STER 08: Lady’s Man

You know, I thought this was going to be a romantically-driven episode that revolves around Azusa's quest in finding her one true love with some Makoto manning it up on the side. Only one part of it was true, and it everything went a lot better than expected.

Azusa reinforces the Japanese stereotype of an older female but as expected from the iDOLM@STER writing department, they went ahead and actually gave her Alzheimer's disease. Pretty sad if you have dementia in your early 20's, but it would make for good comedy, which is why this week was such a riot and easily the funniest episode so far. If you think about it, she probably needs someone to marry not out of love, but because she actually needs a caretaker.

Not hard to think of pairings when the album art does it for you
Here's the part where I spend more time talking about the character who interests me more this week - Makoto. She is what I call a fembro, and just like real bros, it doesn't take much to please since you can always just be yourself around them. The modus operandi remains pretty much the same, but if you somehow do decide to take it to the next level, the challenge would be to appeal to her feminine side by being 'manlier' than her. In Makoto's context, taking her tough exterior into account, that for all the things that she is able to protect, only you can protect her heart. You get the idea

I will quit the franchise if Makoto picks Spinzaku. He is but a worthy rival

“being ‘manlier’ than her”
I doubt many of us can manage that
Can’t we win a tomboy’s heart through pure love!?!?!?
WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Just kidding, yeah a manly man would work for fembros like her
I myself am a tomboy and I alreays gravitate towards masculine men.

Guys take note!

Azusa does not have dementia, she is just dumb and absent-minded.
I learned:
-Old School japanese grandma´s gratest challenge is crossing a street.
-If you are helping a lost kid prepare your wallet
-It must be nice to be blown by Azusa-san. Hahaha! stupid idiot I saw that!
As for Makoto-chan: Remember that she wants to be treated as a girl so there is no such thing as a competition of who is manlier, your competitor is your own imagination. She should be more than happy to submit to your manhood and on top of that she will protect you from rapist and such! I will buy that!

I also always wonder why Japanese grannies tend to shrink too.
The only reason why no one has ever thought of treating Makoto like a girl is because she can be quite intimidating. Or that she looks so much like a guy, no one has ever thought of what she would look like if she dolled up.
