The iDOLM@STER 07: Pure-Poor-Girl

According to Makoto and Miki, cucumbers make good doubled-ended dildos
For me, the appeal of a poor girl is her hard-working attitude - To be more precise, it is the 'getting by' that makes them attractive, more so than the poverty aspect. For a person like yours truly who slogs from 9 to 5 trying to make ends meet while attempting to better themselves through shameless self-promotion, it becomes slightly more apparent what the attraction to this archetype is.

For the most part, the appeal of poor girls stems from the fact that they tend to work a lot harder than their peers, while expecting very little in return. In Yayoi's case, she is a hard-working applicant who looks forward to only a modest day's wage; Rather than expecting larger-than-life returns, she just wants to do the best she can, mostly for the sake of her family. This would come off as rather odd, seeing as how it contradicts the ultimate goal of fame and fortune sought after by other idols. And regardless of adversity, she will always put on a brave front and big smile. In short, it is Yayoi's selflessness and tenacity that has really inspired and won me over - the very same reasons that make Yayoi the waifu candidate to end all waifu candidates
If anything, this Chicken Rice song sums Yayoi up perfectly.
You know, I was initially kind of worried about the quality of this episode, in that it might plummet after they spent two standard anime episode's budget on the PV alone, but thankfully this turned out to be one of the better episodes so far, and not solely because it is a Yayoi-centric one. If anything Iori seems to have taken half the episode for herself, but that was alright too, since she is one of my personal favourites as well. Hopefully this episode has also quelled any accusations that Iori is just another run-of-the-mill Tsunderie character. Sure, she pretty much displays all the traits normally associated with one (minus the abusive tendencies) but Iori is tsun-ness does not comes off as bitchy in the slightest. And for someone of her stature, she is nowhere as haughty as you might expect - her best friend being none other than Yayoi, after all.

In order to prepare for this episode, I had increased my nutbladder's tensile strength by using incrementing intervals of exercise by viewing short hnnngh-inducing scenes where most viewers would have had seizure on the spot.
I lasted about 5 seconds.

This show keeps surprising me with characters that look like stereotypes yet are really not stereotypes. Were their stories really this colorful in the games?
And the cross-pairing dynamics are just perfect. As you mentioned, Iori and Yayoi (rich and poor). There’s Makoto-Yukiho (man-girl and manphobic), Haruka and Chihaya (proactive and subdued), etc. It’s like they’re cancelling each other out and asploding.

You’d be surprised, yes. They do actually flesh out the background and story for every character so that it still stands on its own two feet in the visual novel department
There are lot more pairings than the ones the show has highlighted so far, one of which involving Takane and Iori, although that’s more of rivalry of sorts.

You know, I thought you’d be all over that Hentai, Do Hentai, El Hentai video
I hope you weren’t trying to insinuate that Nonowa resembles Koboshi-chan

Damn you Mr. Charlie Shin! you and your NSFW crap. I click on links out of pure instinct.
I can’t empathize with Yayoi. For me she is a middle-class girl from a middle-class family, but that must be because I am from the third world where you live near this http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-JNda5NodFuA/ThqTZWk4B-I/AAAAAAAAFyk/0_1-sun8Qvc/s1600/pobreza11.jpg or worse. Still, she is such a sweet girl.

I thought using the word dildos was warning enough!
Indeed, Yayoi’s better off than poor people in other countries, but her trying hard is what I love best~

Fair enough. I will pay more attention… to the dildos, yeah.

You know Yi, I have always been a little envious at how girls can improve with these sort of things
