My Awkward Moment Can’t Be This Lewd
Folks, you know me as one of the most accommodating people around, which is why on occasions, I do things to please you, the readers. Unfortunately this time around, I did the most inept thing that commenters in my previous OreImo post told me to do and watched this series with my sister.
What unfolded was easily one of the most horrible experience I have gone through that I never wish to thrust myself into again. I took the initiative and brought my laptop into her room and laid down on her bed to watch the latest episode with my sister. I did so in hopes that I could somehow convey the wholesome values underlined in a series like OreImo, among them, the advocation of sibling bonding, as seen in the previous episode. Bad idea.
As we were watching, she could not cease giggling throughout, all while fidgeting about in a rather annoying manner. I queried her on this somewhat obnoxious behaviour and she could say was “Nothing.”, yet still giggling like some middle schoolgirl. This was compounded by the fact that she kicked me a couple of times due to all that superfluous movement.
In a stern voice, I told her to cease being so immature, which she did. To my dismay however, she promptly resumed, eventually altering her position. What struck me as strange was the fact that she lied down in a position that was not ideal for watching anime. Upon further deducation, I would say that she was in a rather uncouth position which would have been enticing to lesser individuals unlike myself.
Once again, I expressed my displeasure, though this time she retorted in an asinine fashion and said “Make me.” Since I could no longer exert my authority as an elder brother and would not resort to physical discipline, I did the next best thing by grabbing one of her legs and and laid on top of it. This momentarily quelled the kicking, though this hardly perturbed her as she proceeded to put her other leg on top of my back.
Realising too late that I had made things worse, she started rubbing my back with her feet. I was utterly disgusted. Eventually I gave up and decided to leave her room with my portable computer. All I learned today was that I am unable to enjoy watching anime in the presence of another person, and told her flat out that she made a terrible viewing companion. She got upset and instead of apologising, she responded with how it was my obligation to watch OreImo with her as an elder brother, having showed it to her to begin with. In that very instant, I realised that my actions were bad and I should have felt bad.
We started arguing and eventually she pushed me onto the bed and straddled on top of me. She grasped me in a bear hug trying to pin me down. I mustered what little strength I had and broke free from her vise, leaving her room in utter rage. Sister later yelled "I just wanted to spend time with you, stupid!" I ignored her and left it at that. We have not been on speaking terms for the past hour. Morale of the story? Do not, under any circumstances, watch anime with your siblings.
P.S I found this episode to be offensive and disrespectful towards women.
I mean, I watch anime to escape all the objectification and sex symbolism that currently exist in most mainstream media such as those fetching AKB48 music videos, but it looks like there is no difference.
When considering how OreImo was touted as an subversion of all the siscon trope anime out there, this felt almost like an act of betrayal. What was supposedly a spot-on representation of real life sibling relationships have degenerated into otaku fap fodder. Indubitably disappoint.
P.P.S I realise that the OP image has little relevance to the post, and while I do not endorse wincest of any form, I would be lying if I said I would not tap Kirino's underaged ass at full force.

Even though I haven’t seen the episode yet since I got tsundere moe overload with JC Staff animes last night, I really don’t see the big deal about that one fanservice scene… Yes, incest is wrong, but yeah… I think the sexist attitudes in Bakuman is worst than this one scene…

Dude, relax I watch the series with my sister too. All the time. Then again, I didn’t watch it for a subversion, I was rooting for the wincest route from the very beginning. ^w^ so I’m actually REALLY REALLY REALLY happy with this.

I watch anime with my brother (17 years old) but I usually watch the episode first and THEN I share. I have too my bad experiences! I watched Love Hina with him 6 years ago with no previous moderation! and one episode of Girls Bravo… damn.
I wanted to share with him the joy of Amagami SS. The plan was just to show him Kaoru’s arc (my favorite girl) but he liked it and now he is up to date! there are awkward moments in every arc but I talk about them before watching. He pesters me calling it “Shinigami”!
I also let him watch with me Ika Musume, light-hearted and funny, I do not need to supervise it.
I watch alone things like: Sekirei, High school of the Dead, To-Love-Ru, OREIMO, etc.
Now… I’ll watch this OreImo episode. Thanks for sharing your mind Mr. Shin.

It’s impossible to watch alongside a sibling unless they’re into the same interests as you. I tried to get my brother on several occasions to watch anime and read manga , but all he does is complain about lack of fighting and ask for Naruto movies.
Which amuses me since the only comic I got him to read was Yotsuba& . . .

Shin, OreImo is actually a documentary and the events were filmed in real life then disguised as another siscon anime. It is you who is sick, the way you are thinking is strange and can only be determined as a form of illness. Your behavior and utter despise of siscon is not only disturbing but a threat to our community. We have no choice but to take you to a secure facility and reform you. Oh and while I disagree about the statement of not watching anime with siblings (I watch some with my brother whenever it’s feasible and it’s awesome) I do agree that watching incest anime with siblings is no good, mostly because we little sisters will giggle at you all the way =D

I think Oreimo takes a look at what happens when sibling development goes completely wrong. I mean, we got Kyosuke playing incest games because of his Kirino and now this. Next thing, you know, Kyosuke: “OH CRAP, I LOVE MY LITTLE SISTER!” Mental conflicts galore.
