Of Tradition And Honour

My ancestor blogging his anime.

I come from a long line of anime wordsmiths that predates the Qing Dynasty. My father was an editorial blogger, as was his father before him. They blogged about mature anime for mature people such as themselves and were heralded as prodigies in their field during their time. As the firstborn of the eldest son, the responsibility of upholding the family name was weighed on my shoulders. However, as I did not wish to be constrained by traditions and forced to write up editorials, not to mention enjoying ℳℴℯshit anime, a genre frowned upon by my ancestors, I was branded a heathen and ostracised by my clansmen. I never regretted my decision venturing into other discourses of anime blogging, and thus hope to one day restore my honour in the eyes of my family and ancestors, proving to them that eliciting lulz by way of image manipulation and cool stories is also a form of blogging. As I work my way there, I seek the benevolence of you, the reader, by voting for me in the Aniblog Tourney, in hopes that my clansmen would acknowledge the path that I have chosen.

  1. You mean there are other anime blogs?

  2. You mean there are aniblog tourneys?

  3. I’m surprised. I didn’t know Shin was a Chinese faggot. You dishonor your family’s name with moeshit!
    Show ▼

  4. Hmm, I failed to mention this in the post, but I do not see myself competing against others, as the number of votes to me represent the number of supporters of my Path Of Blogging®, and nothing more. “Winning” is nice, but I would rather have the acknowledgement

  5. Amazingly, he didn’t jump on me when we met in rl last year, or was it the year before? Anyway, he looks normal *gasp*. Voted for the best loli-loving moeshit blogger ever in anime blogging history.

  6. No, I will vote for your worst enemy, Kurogane! You have made his blog impure by putting in a certain *ahem ahem* comment (K-ON!! 07), so now Kurogane will get the better of you! Taste his revenge, Shin! Just kidding lol. :swt:

  7. Definitely have my vote – despite my hatred of moeshit and loli’s I love your sense of humour and skill with photoshop

  8. With this you just won my vote. Even despite all these retarded smilies.

    • What faggotry is this? I sure has hell am not from Poland. In fact, I find it rather insulting to be labeled as one. Even if it is due to a borked script.

      • Sorry about that mate, the script is very iffy and have been mislabelling a lot of IPs, so you’re definitely not the only one, not to mention how unfortunate it is to labelled a Pole (I would know)

  9. Hideyoshi will give you his vote.

  10. I’m a pretentious prick who only votes for deep editorial pontificating verbal diarrheas.

j/k you got my vote even if you hate yuri.

  11. Aye you have my vote my debased brethren.

  12. What’s wrong with going against family tradition?
I don’t see anything wrong with it.
And what with following the majority?
I enjoy being different and liking things that others take for granted.

  13. ROFLMAO

Although, I heard the Qing dynasty prosecuted bloggers. How dare they criticize the perfect Imperial anime industry governed by the infallible Tenzi, loli of heaven!
Seeing as it was an offense punishable by killing your entire family, I’m surprised your survived :P

  14. @Caraniel – Won’t you come to accept the other two?

@Yi – Yuri has left some deep emotional scars that have yet to heal, I might let you know about it one day.

    @Dude – I just need his love.

    @Setsuna-san:thx: My brethren.

@peacefan – Old people and their ideologies, I guess.

@aorii – Tenzi did enjoy anime, and my ancestors got into trouble for hating loli anime.

  15. I’ll follow you to the ends of the Moesphere, Photoshop-Sensei!

    ℳℴℯ❤shit anime

btw, how do you do that heart thing? I don’t have a moe keyboard…

  16. I love this blog, you have my vote.

Reading this site over the last few months has actually opened up my bisexual side. Pretty boys make me happy.

  17. eww that other guy has more k-on pics than you

  18. I am amused by your bitter insight of life… (if you indeed possess one). I’m sorry to be saying this about you Shin but I do not necessarily agree with many of the things you say. Why create a blog dedicated on bashing traps/lolis/moe archetypes? I know we all have our opinions but really some of your entries are biased and based on your love for harems…

I’ve read most of your blog posts even the archived ones (with that said this is my first time wanting to say something for your site), I’d like to tell you that the old 2007 style of blogging was much more friendly. I know this is the internet and no one gives a crap about your feelings but maybe you should ease up on some of the things you say. I know that you said you would make this site to your style (from reading your very first entry), the style from your oldest entry was much more friendly and informative. This blog now is all hate and superbly biased.

One example I’d like to example of biases is how you’d drop an anime because the main character is not a girl. This anime happens to be Heroman one of the animes I am watching currently. It’s great, lacking story but then again its only on episode 9. This is important because I want to convey that you should NOT drop an anime because of simple biases. It also supports the fact that you should have to watch enough (or read enough into something) before you can actually get out a solid opinion. Surely it would be great if we could get more character development and humor in Heroman but solely dropping an anime because the character can’t be your lolwaifu is just plain stupid and lifeless.

I know you’ll read this because its not like many people to not read comments you get, but its hard for one to revert to their old ways especially on the internet.

tl;dr: Ease up, brighten up, however you want to take it, your blog has become a hate-filled scramble of words that people obviously enjoy but some of us don’t. Its great you have a good fanbase for your blog but it could be diminishing because of the fact that you are very one-sided.

Oh and before you label me as troll I thought I’d just like to send a little of my true feelings to this website. Oh and you watched Lucky Star right? Moe and loli infested anime am I right? Such hypocrisy going into your words in your recent posts if you watched one of the most moe animes ever.

Thanks for hearing me out and do what ever you feel like. I’m out.

    • Oh dear, this sure is the longest comment I’ve gotten since forever, so I must thank you for putting in that effort.

Anyway, I’ll try addressing some of the points you made individually:

I am amused by your bitter insight of life… (if you indeed possess one). I’m sorry to be saying this about you Shin but I do not necessarily agree with many of the things you say. Don’t feel sorry, I enjoy eliciting responses of any nature, so disagreement is fine. Why you say, I guess that’s because that’s what really gets me going these days? I admit I am very shallow and biased though.

I’ve read most of your blog posts even the archived ones (with that said this is my first time wanting to say something for your site), I’d like to tell you that the old 2007 style of blogging was much more friendly. Thanks for reading so far back, and reminding me about how I used to be write in the style you said. I guess the longer I stayed on the Internet, the more caustic I became? But really, hate? I don’t recall to have to express my hatred towards anything (other than boobies and lesbians), and even then they were done sarcastically, I feel.

One example I’d like to example of biases is how you’d drop an anime because the main character is not a girl. This anime happens to be Heroman one of the animes I am watching currently.

Holy shit, how did you know I dropped it? Yes, while I wasn’t too happy about Joey fulfilling my trap fantasies, the reason I dropped Heroman was because it wasn’t that interesting to begin with, and given the tight schedule I have now, I decided to give it up. To prove that I do watch shows for entertainment value and not solely because they have neither lolis and traps, I did finish Sasameki Koto, which was a slowpaced yuri feast.

Ease up, brighten up, however you want to take it, your blog has become a hate-filled scramble of words that people obviously enjoy but some of us don’t. Its great you have a good fanbase for your blog but it could be diminishing because of the fact that you are very one-sided.

Do I really emit that tense nature? That said, I concede to the fact that these days I just spew random words that seem to cater to myself more than anyone else. I will eventually vary the content here, but it’s just not the time.

Oh and before you label me as troll I thought I’d just like to send a little of my true feelings to this website. Oh and you watched Lucky Star right? Moe and loli infested anime am I right? I will never pass off any comment here as trolling, regardless of circumstance. Have you read the post that led to the Waterbottlegate incident? I let every one of them slide, even if they were derogatory in nature, and I can say that yours isn’t. In fact, I appreciate the honest feedback. Not many people tend to bother with it these days. Not too sure where you’re heading with Lucky Star though? Are you implying that I dislike it? I sure as heck don’t.

      Again, thanks for the comment.

      • @Shin – dear me you just had to refer to the watterbottlegate again didn’t you.

@Annonymous – I think some of your comments are made based on misinformation. If you would read the Heroman post again Shin said and i quote “I LOVE JOEY JONES ❤ Unless Joey is really a girl, which means I’m going to drop this shit”. AFAIK wouldnt this mean that he would drop Heroman if Joey Jones was a girl? But Joey Jones is not a girl. So wouldn’t it be wrong to say he dropped Heroman due to the gender of the main character?

  19. A STORM HAS ARRIVED!

  20. @Jesus159159159 – Only ℳℴℯ❤ people such as myself can produce that

@Wasabimilkshake – Thank you! It’s always reassuring to know not everyone is disgusted with what I put on the site…

@A concerned child – You’re making it sound like it’s a bad thing… Do you know how many K-ON!-centric posts I made when it first aired?
@Dully – And then there was calm?

  21. Malaysian Chinese lurker here will vote for kinsman.

  22. Alright thanks Shin for clearing things up. Sorry to have made you read my ramblings! XD

Anyways I didn’t really know until now so thank you for helping me understand. This is the internet and how one takes what you say literally or figuratively really determines what people think about you. In this case it was me, sorry for sounding like a jerk and thanks once again! ^^

  23. wa-wa-wa-wa-wait…

So reading through Anons post I cant help but wonder… Shin are you trolling us?
Are you not actually this glob of decadent corrupt trap-loving, loli-luving, hiding from the authoroties otaku that you lead us to believe in your posts… Have I misinterpreted you?

also he was right, your old ways were better imo, if for the pure fact that they were longer…
(Storm has arrives = obscure reference to Sage characters predicting epicness in battle and when the main protagonist uses “THAT” they yell out “A STORM HAS ARRIVED!” specifically last anime i saw this in was Seto no Hanayome.)

PS: How do i get a picture?

  24. All this vivid history and nobody mentions Shin Sangoku Musou? It’s modern proof that ancient China had in fact embraced lolis and super saiyan powars.

So is it just me, or are you at 50-50 in round 3? A Rival Appears?

    • I guess my mandate has come to an end? It’s just one of those things, I guess

    • Following the advice of minister Li Si, Emperor Qin Shi Huang ordered the burning of all Loli books and trap books from states other than Qin — beginning in 213 BC. This was followed by the live burial of a large number of lolicons who did not comply with the state dogma.
