The Starcraft Champion That Never Was

There have been speculations abound regarding the origins of Tachibana Kanade, as to how she gained the title of Tenshi and the secret behind her repertoire of maneuvers that were beyond human capabilities. It is widely theorised that T3nsh1, as Kanade is known throughout Battle.net, was an aspiring Starcraft athlete, who met her demise just short of achieving her dream of becoming a world champion.
Much like the Shinda Sekai Sensen members and many others before her, Kanade was brought to the world after death bearing the burden of regret from not having accomplished her goal in life. As such, it was not unusual for a person to retain their talents even after they have deceased. Kanade, however, surpassed everyone else in one aspect.
Kanade had always been an adept user of the Protoss, an enigmatic alien race and masters of psychokinesis, which may ring familiar even to those who have never played or god forbid, heard of Starcraft, as Kanede herself possessed those traits.
Projecting her devotion to Starcraft through her very being, Kanade is able to manifest the abilities of the Protoss, as seen throughout the series thus far.

Triumphs after triumphs, Kanade eventually became the only ranked female player in the world top 100 player ladder on Battle.net, and was well on her way to becoming like her idol, Bisu.

As her proud nation of Japan would not acknowledge the Korean national sport, Kanade had difficulty obtaining a sponsor who would take her to the 2010 Ongamenet Starleague, the most prestigious Starcraft championship league in Korea, and arguably the world. Through perseverance and a stroke of good luck, the Japanese subsidiary of Samsung soon recognised Kanade's talents and potential, thus agreeing to become her benefactor.
Kanade, however, would not live to see her dreams come true. The day before her flight to Seoul, Kanade succumbed to prolonged sleep deprivation from intense training sessions. Much like her namesake, Kanade was found lying on her keyboard with an angelic smile. She died doing what she loved. She gave her life for Aiur.
In the world after death, Kanade's obssession with Starcraft never left her, and because of that she was unable to socialise with the rest of the students, casting herself as an outcast, much like when she was alive. Still, that didn't stop a gang of rebel students who were vehemently opposing her, whom Kanad equated to as Terrans.
Kanade fought back with full strength as she longed for combat, delivering doom to all who threatened the homeworld.
Khas' she serves. En Taro Tenshi.

Actually plausible.
May 18th, 2010 - 18:52
Still doesn’t explain episode 6 though. Other Starcraft players?
May 19th, 2010 - 01:22
I can’t remember anything about episode 6.
May 18th, 2010 - 05:27

May 19th, 2010 - 01:23

May 18th, 2010 - 05:27

May 18th, 2010 - 06:03
The only issue I have with this post is in calling Starcraft a sport and its players athletes. It’s akin to calling chess a sport =P
May 18th, 2010 - 10:40
Well, actually…
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess
>Chess is a recognized sport of the International Olympic Committee…
>Contemporary chess is an organized sport with structured international and national leagues, tournaments and congresses.
May 19th, 2010 - 01:31
What Scypher said. Also, would you prefer I call Starcraft a religion, and its players…. zealots? *ba dum dsh*
May 18th, 2010 - 06:47
Tenshi Toridas!
May 18th, 2010 - 07:49
Someone finally made a blog post about this. En Taro Tenshi!
May 18th, 2010 - 10:11
Haha, I chuckled at this. You make it sound completely legitimate too.
May 18th, 2010 - 10:14
Prepare for inevitable Archon Merge with Dark Tenshi
May 18th, 2010 - 10:53
Would lol again.
May 18th, 2010 - 11:29
she discharge binary number? when i look closely i juz found out about it
May 18th, 2010 - 12:03
Aww, had I known about this earlier, I would have no objection in taking Kanade to the Starleague to fulfill her dream. Such a pity, a Nagato-esque character had to bear with this (http://kurogane.animeblogger.net/image/spring2010/angel_03_01.jpg), this (http://danbooru.donmai.us/data/5e06966e158377c3bd4824afab5305d6.jpg), now this too. If only the Kami-sama of her world (Haruhi?) could just listen to her pitiful pleas….
May 18th, 2010 - 13:05
Lol yes this works for me xD nice post lmao
May 18th, 2010 - 14:12
Oh wow, this article is absolutely brilliant, haha. I almost feel inspired to switch back to Protoss….
May 18th, 2010 - 14:21
Great. This means Angel Beats will end with her sacrificing herself destroying the Overmind which is actually Yuri, like Tassadar.
May 18th, 2010 - 23:39
That’s assuming there are Dark Templar to teach her how to use void-based psionic energies and she manages to complete the Shadow Walk.
May 19th, 2010 - 01:29
I’m sorry but we don’t appreciate spoilers around these parts.
May 18th, 2010 - 15:10
I live for Tenshi.
May 18th, 2010 - 21:57
OUR LIVES FOR TENSHI!!!
May 19th, 2010 - 01:30
I would make Tenshi feel alive if you know what I mean.
May 19th, 2010 - 04:52

May 19th, 2010 - 05:25
dammit Shin, you’ve taken the psi blade meme to levels of genius. One question though; where does she get the pyl*ns required to power her facilities to research these upgrades? I see a severe plot hole.
I swear to god though, if she gets Fenix’d…
May 19th, 2010 - 13:03
So Naoi is actually a Dark Archon with the hypnotise ability that could turn the enemy to the other side?
Is Otonashi the famous Jim Raynor?
Will Yuri reprise her role as the Soon-To-Be Queen of Blades?
Stay Tuned for the next episode of Starcraft Beats!

May 19th, 2010 - 15:29
That’s like saying you’re spoiling Final Fantasy VII by commenting on Aerith’s death. EVERYONE knows that twist by now.
@Xellos-_^ –
He thinks Tenshi’s a little boy. He will be disappointed by the truth.
May 20th, 2010 - 05:04
En Taro Tenshi, indeed.
I see you’re all pumped up for the release of StarCraft II this July?
If Angel Beats is only 13 episodes, then it’ll coincidentally end in July… Hmm, maybe I’m sensing a secret collaboration between Key and Blizzard here…
Still, anyone voiced by Hanazawa Kana is kawaii to me, regardless of whether she’s a StarCraft otaku or not.
May 21st, 2010 - 20:34
Wha, what woot!
O.o for sure i wouldnt recoginse it…

May 22nd, 2010 - 16:23
ZOMG TENSHI MERGE !!!!
May 22nd, 2010 - 22:07
wow I had no idea :o
May 23rd, 2010 - 00:22
Wonder if the merging of all the Tenshi clones produce a Tenshi Archon?
May 23rd, 2010 - 00:48
@Xellos-_^ – Tenshi is a little boy who loves Starcraft.
@A concerned child – Ain’t Jun Maeda such a bro?
@Haesslich – @Dude – @Kinny Riddle – Work in progress

May 23rd, 2010 - 02:31
I wonder what Otonashi is trying to accomplish by embracing the moaning Tenshi in his arms.
Wait a minute…ohh Shin…that’s you right?
May 24th, 2010 - 16:02
@maskawaih – Jun Maeda loves his Korean sports
@Solarius – Jun Maeda is changing the script as we speak.
@Dude – I think it’s safe to say, there was little of all of us in Otononashi then
June 7th, 2010 - 12:24
