Ausfailia.net

Not too long ago, a (formerly) classified blacklist of banned websites made its way onto the internet, which was in fact the precursor to a legislation that would see Australia implementing internet censorship at a scale which would pretty effectively cripple the way a lot of us, and by us, I mean people like me
browse the web.
Rather than targeting specific sites and content, in which CP has always been the primary concern, Lawful Evil Internet Guardian Stephen Conroy saw fit to expand the filter to block out anything listed under the Refused Classification category, which is essentially a blanket term for questionable content, which includes, among others, fetishes.
Ordinary Internet users here are freaking out already as it is, but for the otakus, this no different from pulling the plug on the chronically ill, since a lot of otakus such as myself are kept alive with ℳℴℯ❤ fetishes and the like being constantly injected into our bloodstream via permanent intravenous therapy
I shudder at the inevitability where I wake up one day to find (especially) 4chan, imageboards and other anime/manga related sites shut out before me. I always knew I would succumb to death by ℳℴℯ❤, but with the way things are unfolding right now, I would sooner die by deprivation of.
To be honest, as a student on a temporary visa, I have yet to fully grasp the direness of the situation, since there is the option of packing my bags and returning to the third world cesspool from whence I came, which is ironically a lot less draconian, at least where internet censorship is concerned (although this is attributed to the lack of resources, infrastructure and other miscellaneous factors more than anything else
) Still, there is that slight tinge of despair and I cannot feel sorry enough for the good folks here, as seen by my gaming club mates here who went on a pub crawl to drown their sorrows last night
As for me, I best go stockpile on loli before it becomes illegal inaccessible.

I hope they won’t block your site as well.

>Implying that this site is illegal or something like that
December 17th, 2009
>Implying that it isn’t illegal.

Under Refused Classfication, the blog could technically pass off as legal, but it’s questionable enough to get itself banned.

Holy fuck, Shin, that wind chime freaked me out. I had no idea where it was coming from and I thought I was going crazy.
December 17th, 2009
You’re the third person I think
December 19th, 2009

December 20th, 2009

On another note, yeah, Internet at Aus=phail
December 16th, 2009

I am sure you can always find a way around it when you’re desperate enough

THE PEOPLE OF AUSTRALIA MUST REBEL!!!!!!
OVERTHROW AND BEGIN THE LOLI EMPIRE!!!
December 16th, 2009
I LOLed HARD at this post, but, uh, hope you dont die
December 16th, 2009
>_> 4chan has excessive amounts of loli. In reality it does nothing because all the paedophiles just go overseas to get their fix.
December 16th, 2009
If all else fails you can always have to get your lolis sent to you disguised as something else  We wouldnt want you dying of deprivation now would we
December 16th, 2009
This will just make us work harder in finding ways around it.
There’s always an answer from google if u asked the right questions.

Fucking fascists. This is no different than legislating moral standards and breaking all laws of personal freedom. Coming from a country that spent the best chunk of a century under a dictatorial regime, I can tell you it’s the exact same bullshit. I thought people would know better at this point.

I don’t know anything about Australian politics, but does it look like this is really very likely to pass? I would think it pretty likely that in the US, something like this wouldn’t come close to making it pass Congress…and I thought Australia had its head on a little better than our legislature.
December 17th, 2009
I’m afraid a workaround would be extremely difficult if not near impossible if the bill passes. As it is, the infrastructure has been laid out, with preliminary testings already passed. All that’s left is to pass the legislation to which proxies and virtual private networks would be getting banned as well.

The healthy human mind doesn’t wake up in the morning thinking this is its last day on Earth. But I think that’s a luxury. Not a curse. To know you’re close to the end is a kind of freedom. Good time to take…inventory. Outgunned. Outnumbered. Out of our minds. On a suicide mission. But the sand and the rocks here, stained with thousands of years of warfare…They will remember us. For this. Because out of all our vast array of nightmares, this is the one we choose for ourselves. We go forward like a breath exhaled from the Earth. With vigor in our hearts and one goal in sight: We. Will. Have Lolis.

I should really check up on American laws before I get the FBI taking away my computer and registering me as a sex offender. A while back, there was news that this guy who accidentally downloaded loli stuff a few years ago was arrested recently. The deleted file reconstructed from the confiscated laptop and his life basically fucked.
That scared me a bit. :(

Good thing I’m not in Ausfailia. And I thought it was a cool country, with Kangaroo Jack and all. That image seems so distant now. Govvvvvvvvment has been overlooking the internet here in the Philippines for as long as I know, and with how much I hate them for banning loli here, I’m kinda thankful that they’re overlooking the internet.
As for you, better prepare a secret loli room or something so you can stockpile your stuff.

At least the camel hordes are protesting along with you.
December 18th, 2009
Wheres that “third world cesspool” you’re from?
December 18th, 2009
>Implying you are oblivious that your country is a third world cesspool.
Wait.
>Inferring that you do not know that Shin escaped from the third world cesspool to that camel-forsaken place after he broke 1 too many hymens prematurely.
:O

A country that provides water, food and proper shelter for her citizens is hardly a third world country in my books.
I don’t know about the second part though, i’m a recent reader.
December 19th, 2009
so when you escaping ausfailia shinn? lol
December 19th, 2009
Oh dear fucking god, NO. D:
I HAVE NO ESCAPE ROUTES.
-GOES TO JUMP OFF A CLIFF CLUTCHING HIS DESKTOP-CHAN-

Doubtful that the coalition government in Australia is going to break up over this, but one can hope. As for the censorship, it’s quite obviously a blatant publicity grab by Labour – a lot of the “prohibited content” is still perfectly legal to acquire and possess offline; you just won’t be allowed to view it online.
Also, the compulsory blacklist is only 1,000 URLs. That’s a drop in the ocean of the net – the censorship isn’t gonna do anything. The second tier of censorship is “opt-out” for the end-user – likely Shin if you fill out the requisite paperwork and the like you’ll be able to remain mostly censorship free.
It makes it quite clear that all this effort by the Labour government is just a chance for them to stand up and say “Look, we’re doing something!”
So if you’re stuck in Australia I’d wait and see what Labour does with this fiasco; I’m sure they’ll flip-flop on it as effectively as Canadian Parliament has flip-flopped on our gun registry,

Never loved that certain third world country so much.
Oh wait, my country shows in the comments right.
