The Emancipation Of Hanato Kobato

Posted by: Shin

This is the story of a girl named Hanato Kobato, whose parents died in a tragic car accident. Having no relatives capable of taking her in and her home foreclosed, she wanders homeless while facing psychotic delusions born from the shock of her ordeal.

She sees herself as a beautifully dressed young girl with a magical traveling companion in the form of a talking blue dog, who tells her that she herself is of magical origins. Donning a fantastical flask that she must fill with the broken hearts of others in order to go to a certain place where her wish will be granted.

Throughout the story, she is in reality dressed in dirty and torn clothing that she hasn't changed from since she last left her house.

She carries around a bloodstained puppy doll that she frequently has long conversations with, and who she projects onto as her advisor.

When she "mends broken hearts", she is actually unknowingly murdering the innocent people she meets who are concerned about a young homeless girl dressed in rags. She stabs them in the heart and takes a single drop of blood from each victim and places it inside of her vial.

By the end of the series, the police have cornered her as she stands over her last victim, but she is still unable to free herself of her delusions. She holds up her flask, filled to the brim with the blood of her victims.

As she pulls the bloody knife from the victim, the police open fire.

Kobato lays in a pool of her own blood as the police approach her.

"I finally did it... I'll get to go see Mommy and Daddy..."

  2. What the. I. I. I.
Well I suppose if you look at the plot from a realistic perspective, this can be a possibility.

    But why Kobato?!

  3. That was a tragic story of Psychoticness and pitifulness .

  4. WHAT IS THIS I DON’T EVEN

  5. Hot damn! You’re good at writing these kinds of stories XD Still scary as heck though 0.o

  6. Yeah, if Kobato was like this I’d watch it for sure lol.

  7. When you left I lost a part of me
It’s still so hard to believe
    Come back bay-bee please cause
    WE BELONG TOO-GEEEHHH-THAAAAA!!!!

The best part is, this actually seems plausible. Well done. ^ ^

  20. I suggest a regimen of loli’s for the depression thing.

  21. Noooo!!!! Kobato, what have you done to her!!! Meanwhile, there’s a hollywood director out there somewhere taking notes on your post for the inevitable live action adaptation.

  22. Uh, no one actually bought the whole Kobato actually being someone from another world right? Talking puppet that no one else happened to see? Infinite wardrobe? Sounds like a case of delusion to me :???:

  23. Shin, according to your logic, Doraemon is just the delusions of a boy who always flunks his exams. A rumour that actually existed and upsetted the Doraemon fans so much the publishers has to come out and explicitly deny that being the case.

While Clamp is well known for their TragicTwists (TM), and I expect Kobato to turn out to be a sad story like Air, but I would not expect something like this. This is just too dark. What has Kobato done to you to deserve this?

Air is bittersweet tragic, your version is “sick psychotic” tragic. If Clamp wants a series to be gory tragic like X or Tsubasa, they would let you know from the beginning. They maybe good at twisting the plot so much the original premise becomes unrecognizable, but they’re not known to switch genres out of the blue.

X is about the fucking End of the World, so gore is to be expected. And Tsubasa didn’t start out cute, so some of the gore that came halfway through didn’t seem awkward. CCS on the other hand, is all cutesy and stuff, and it would be really shocking if you were to suddenly see Yue ripping Shaoran’s arm off or Sakura getting tentacle-raeped by some super evil Clow Card, or something like that.

I guess that’s why we have doujinshis.

  24. Somebody get a producer, we have a good story here!

  25. BEST. POST. EVER.

  26. I’ve been looking for this copy pasta for a while
    Thanks, Shin.

  27. LOL this is HILARIOUS!! GOOD JOB XD

  28. Unlike The Fall of Hirasawa Yui this story lacked a bit of build-up (not to mention the canon strongly suggests to something of these lines, minus the gothic elements), it wasn’t as sad and disturbing but it still creeped me out, especially with the bottle… if she puts only one drop yet filled the bottle in the end, I wonder how many people she killed? shudders

  29. Wow. I can’t believe it, but I approve

  30. Wow, that was really well done. Imagery was great.

  31. If only the show were like this, maybe I’d feel more need to watch it.

  32. Riveting tale chap
