Bakemonogatari 09: Nadeko Makes My Snake Solid

You knew I wouldn't be able to resist watching and posting this, so here it is. After all, I was so enthralled by this episode, I didn't realize the blog was down! Although Bakemonogatari ended its five episode run in a rather abrupt fashion at at the end of the Mayoi Snail arc, it is nice to know that SHAFT managed to churn out a sequel just a couple of weeks in, though admittedly there was apprehension on my part, because, more often than not, sequels tend to pale in comparison. Glad to know my worries were for naught!
Just when I thought I had gotten over Hachikuji Mayoi and come to terms with my unfaithfulness, as I returned to the loving embraces of mai waifu Ranka, SHAFT single-handedly destroys whatever form of abstinence I've mustered over the past few weeks

This line should hit home for all you self professed non-pedophiles. A tip of the hat to SHAFT for successfully capturing the essence of what makes good loli fanservice. After all, anyone can animate naked little girls, but it is the context of that scene in question that makes it so um, titillating. Oh god, I nearly went into cardiac arrest just imagining that scenario. I like how Bakemonogatari has consistently displayed fanservice, to only present a logical, if not twisted, reasoning for its inclusion in the first place. Which is much SHAFT’s execution as it is the source material’s loltastic ecchi scenarios.
