Daicon: The Minori-ty Report
The hall before the storm.
The Prelude:
At around 2pm or so there was a catastrophic communications breakdown of sorts as the lights went out across the hall for the stage preparations to take place. I heard from a source that the vendors and doujin groups attending the event raised all sorts of hell for the organizers. Some vendors actually began packing up and left the hall to my amazement. Wonder why didn't they stick around for a bit? I also met tj_han, Owen_S, and DarkMirage today. Sadly, I couldn't have a good chat with them due to time constraints.
The Climax:
At around 3.30p.m. The ticket holders were seated and I was rather pleased that the organizers provided the fans with some glow sticks for us to wave around in unison during the concert. Good one guys! Chihara Minori performed a grand total of 10+3 songs, which was totally awesome on her part for willing to sing quite a few extra songs for her fans. I was impressed by her stage presence as well as her voice during the live. It was quite a sight to behold seeing her strutting her stuff on the stage. Sadly, I only knew two of the songs she sang which were "Yuki Muon, Madobe Nite" and "Paradise Lost". I knew I should have attended a crash course in Minoriism before the event. To make things even better, she donned a baju kebaya that showed off her extremely sexy curves. The roar from the crowd when she appeared on stage with the baju kebaya shredded my eardrums. I am now looking for donors who have eardrums to spare. While I'm at it, my legs are dead from all the jumping and cheering.
Special thanks goes out to the Minori fanclub who flew in here from Japan for preparing the AWSM flags and for leading the glow stick movements. I think they are either rich or extremely dedicated to even go overseas to attend a live by her in an event in a far-flung place like Cyberjaya.
The Curtain Call:
And so, the curtain falls on one of the best live performances that I have been to. I got to get up close with Minorin, get her signature, go berserk at her live, among other stuff.
The following moments can be described as either my crowning moment of awesome or my height of stupidity. But what's done is done and I do not regret it for a single moment.
After Minori's performance was over, I sneaked up onto the stage and took the bottle of mineral water from which she drank to refresh herself during the live. I couldn't resist, it was sitting there on the table waiting to be taken by someone. After some prodding, brainwashing, and adrenaline-induced mania I did it. There is no proof that I was the one who did it because I don't think anyone got a photo of me jumping off the stage with the bottle in my hands, Toki wo kakeru Shoujo style, but here are some photos of the holy grail of sorts.
This is a bottle of Evian mineral water. There are many like it but this one was Minorin's
Why is it empty?
Because I drank from it.

I don't have much to say about myself. Well, for one i started watching anime back in my secondary school years but i have only begun to delve deeper into it during the past couple of years. I am also an amateur photographer.

Haha, yes, I do agree with our compatriots down south that it was a rather depraved thing to do, but having personally known Setsuna for quite a long time now, I can sort of understand why he did it anyway, since much like me, he’s one to get easily caught in the excitement of things and was likely coaxed into doing so by the dudes he was hanging around with at that time. Mind you, he wasn’t even the first to drink off the bottle! Not that it should excuse his actions of course, but hey, what’s done is done and this should add to his what I foresee his long list of mistakes of youth

Hmm.. Mixed feelings on this..
At one point, Setsuna-san had quite the courage to do what others didn’t even think off.
From another point, I think drinking the bottle was pretty messed up. But then again, I’m just a very old-fashioned kinda of guy and might have lost touch of the changing times.
The question to ask yourself before shooting Setsuna is not whether you would snatch the bottle or not..
Instead, ask yourself IF you already HAD a bottle of water which you indeed grabbed from someone who you crazily adore, would you take a sip?
Me, I would gladly take a sip of water from Nono@Diebuster’s bottle anytime. Provided she gave it to me. :p

Fans in Japan treat such things very seriously. Everything, from photography to handshake opportunities, is very tightly managed in Japan because fans are always on the lookout for “unfair treatment”. Having things like this happen overseas will certainly cause at least some PR trouble for the talent agency if the Japanese fan community hears about it.
Not everything is harmless fun, even though I do agree that there’s a lot of over-reacting going on here.

Seriously, it’s not about whether the fans are being too serious or not, but rather it’s the impression that the act has left behind.
If the world is that simple as to be able to “live and forget”, then the world probably won’t need any criminal records. As voiced out by many individuals above, the act wasn’t really anything to brag about.
This surely has made an impact on the 2chn and global community (to some extent, just look at the number of responses on Sankaku Complex for example) and will not be forgotten in the short run so I’d suggest you do something to remedy the situation fast, if ever possible.
And by the way, i did meet you before in real life and personally i am rather disappointed in your integrity after this incident.

Haih… Why so serious? I was shocked at first because I was expecting all the fucked up things that will come out after this. But why need to use brute force? I thought humans had evolve into their prime state already. Still want to be neanderthal.

Now that the shitstorm’s pretty much over, let me say that the only regret I have for Setsuna’s actions is that it’d be a long time coming(if at all) for another one for this magnitude to ever reoccur. On a slightly less remorseful note, allow me to say sorry; Sorry that most of the rage are fromMalaysian otakus who have deluded themselves into thinking that they have some sort of pride and reputation to uphold, more than anything else. It’s also somewhat disappointing to find out that the Japanese themselves didn’t really care that much(as hinted by the fact that this site has not been DDOS’ed to hell)
Speaking of the site, for those wondering how it would affect Atarashii Prelude in the long run, well, let’s just say, that I’m going miss the commotion, since as mentioned, I would be hard-pressed to emulate it in any of my future posts
Also, since the blog had always associated itself with depravity and absurdity of a similar nature, I was not at all concerned about its “reputation” and allowed the flames to pour in without so much of defending against it, since loyal readers see it as “business as usual” albeit at a much grander scale this time around.
P.S Congratulations to both(yes, both) Ravage and Mizunaga for 200GET. Technically, the Arthritis blog trackback doesn’t count since it was spam, but yet it eluded the spam moderation just so it could be part of the shitstorm, to which I respect, hence, allowing it to stay.

Hahahahaha, I can’t believe taking and drinking from a water bottle with someone’s saliva on it, would cause such commotion. I mean, COME ON GUYS IT’S A FREAKING WATER BOTTLE! I would even mind if my GF’s water bottle was stolen and drank from (unless that person turns out to be a stalker and or starts mast___ing with it). There’s nothing wrong with drinking from someone else s water bottle; saying it IS wrong is like saying: ‘You can’t drink that water! It’s from MY sea!’ which is pretty stupid. (‘~`;)
