Clannad: What Should Have Been
S-s-stupid. It's not that I'm happy to see Papa or anything...
As I clear my backlog which included two episodes of Clannad, Kyou's appearance was a much needed breath of fresh air that the show desperately needed, given the melodramatic nature of the anime following Nagisa's demise. Having Ushio falling ill has convinced me more than ever that Tomoya's life was headed towards a downward spiral the moment he picked her over superior choices such as Kyou, which I still consider to be the best Clannad girl, bar none. He should have bonked her in the equipment shed there and then, but alas. Kyou would have survived giving birth to Ushio, and the little one would have grown up to be cute loli tsundere just like her mother. Heck, given Tomoya's pittance of a salary, he would have saved a bundle with Kyou tutoring their daughter. He'd be a lot less emo too, with the shagging night after night. Oh, the endless possibilities ;_;
Now if you would excuse me, I have more catching up to do.

Why does it feel a bit like Kanon? Seeing Kyou as a teacher was really nice actually. Boton being all grown up and so as well. What jumped into my head then was a possibility of a little remarriage. Would have been so sweet.
But then again, then it would have taken focus away from Nagisa and Ushio, which would be a shame.
I don´t like where ep 21 seems to be going though. It´s enough, I don´t have any more tears to cry at this point. Let me get some air before anything else happends.

I really did wish for the remarriage for at least the compensation on how they cut off kyou’s arc on the anime but it seem become less possible with the illness of Ushio.

Hmm. Remarriage is indeed possible but i think that Tomoya is too devoted a husband to go for any other woman.

The main reasons for my thoughts were mostly that Ushio accepted Kyou pretty much and loves Botan. And I don´t know but to me it was pretty obvious she still liked Tomoya so.
It would have been good.
But alas, focus was on Nagisa from the very start so. With having heard everything the first thing I would do after getting Ushio to the hospital is to go to a special place to see what happened there.
I hope it doesn´t get any sadder than it already has been.

I can’t believe you’re practically blaming Tomoya for picking Nagisa when Kyou hardly made any advances herself.
Let’s put it this way, Kyou’s route depends entirely on Nagisa being non-existent, i.e. you don’t go and interact with her. The same goes for Tomoyo’s route (well, slightly more for her route as you’ll need Nagisa’s help in the story, but not too much). Both Kyou and Tomoyo had lost by the time Tomoya got involved with Nagisa’s theatre club, and no amount of “flag-making” can save them.
Anyway, Tomoya doesn’t know Nagisa is cursed with her illness, neither does he know Ushio has inherited it. Sure, he actually did regret meeting Nagisa for nearly five whole years, and it took a lot of effort from Sanae-san to bring him back. And yes, he might just go crazy if Ushio were to go as well
But the thing is, Nagisa’s unfortunate demise and Ushio’s current predicament are really just that: unfortunate. If you want to blame, blame the gods (or writer Maeda), don’t blame the characters who never even expected that sort of outcome. There’s no guarantee that Kyou’s child might be born with no genetic defect or some other ailments.
Of course, Tomoyo fans are already appeased by the DVD special for the first series. As After Story story ends in episode 22, with 23 being an omake and “24″ being a DVD special, I’m quite confident Kyou fans will finally be appeased once and for all.

I would like to express my disappointment that Clannad is 22 episodes AGAIN, and I really hope this won’t be a continuing trend. Little Busters deserves 24 episodes for its sheer awesome.
I would also encourage Shin to actually play the Clannad game. Because, when one does, one will discover that Kyou is a horrible, selfish, date-hijacking bitch who doesn’t deserve Tomoya at all.
Seriously, the entire plot of that route is EXACTLY like the first half of School Days. It ends better though, heh.

I hate to break this to you Shin, but Kyou was an absolute uberbitch in her route, what with setting up Ryou with Tomoya, THEN stealing him from under her sister’s nose. She was ONLY tsundere in all the other girl’s routes.

Lol wut there are still people going with the “LOL PICK KYOU”? I used to like her too untill I realized she was just another generic ye’old tsunder personality. She was up there next to Nagisa and Tomoyo. I expected too much from Kyou’s route and I was greeted with EMO EMO Tomoya (As bad as when Nagisa dies, only with a stupid unjustified reason) and Kyou being a bitch with Ryou being(Trying to be) a slut. Gah her route totally killed her character for me. Kappei’s route saved Ryou’s character but now I’m totally against Kyou X Tomoya.
Well, Kyou herself isn’t a bad character at all. She’s smoking hot and has a great body. But unfortunatly most people are shallow and ship the Tomoya x Kyou route just because she’s hot. Totally disregard character compatibility and personality, only the thigh highs matter! When most people scream “YEAH KYOU IS THE BEST CHOICE!!!!” I don’t think they really take Tomoya’s personality and situation in mind, rather they just thinking “LOL I WANT KYOU, SHE’S A HAWT TSUNDERE” and bash Tomoya for not choosing her x.x I don’t like tsundere’s that much but I don’t hate them either. In my opinion Tomoya and Nagisa are much better together as a pair then Tomoya and Kyou would ever be. I could list reasons but that’d take too long.
Really Kyou is hawt and there are tons of guys who love tsunderes, she should just find another guy more suited to her.
Teacher Kyou seems to have grown more mature and less trigger happy though. I guess Tomoya re-marrying somewhere down the line might not be impossible. However, TRUE END FTW. The Clannad True End is indeed the best.
Oh yeah, no I would NOT want an annoying little brat kid over the awesome Ushio-chan.

Well guys, here’s the thing: I have indeed played Clannad, at least some of the routes, excluding Nagisa’s and have to agree that Kyou’s route was rather naff in regards as to how it was fleshed out. If I had to pick a favorite route, it would probably be Tomoyo’s. That said, it was love at first sight, and I usually never “betray” my character of choice, despite their obvious flaws ie; Shinn Asuka and Ranka Lee

Kyou is my ultimate favorite, I like tsundere personality,
but I think Tomoya’s too devoted to remarry with her. Plus, I think he’s into passive girls. He wouldn’t be able to handle Kyou,… or would he >.> …
I still like the Nagisa x Tomoya pairing, I don’t really get the big hype about Tomoyo(even if I like her). And if he ended up with Fuko… I have no idea about that cute Fuko and Tomoya.
