What is the world coming to?!! First we've got a Malaysian group condemning the uniform worn by girls at government schools, saying it encouraged rape and pre-marital sex.

Thing is, if it looked anything like what Japanese girls wore, then perhaps that claim would have been somewhat justified, but being a citizen of the aforementioned country and having seen firsthand what our female school uniforms looked like, I can safely tell you that these people have the ability to troll and come up with baseless, rage inducing statements which surpasses that of any 4channer. 3/10 for effort.

No prizes for guessing which is the Malaysian female school attire.

Do take note, that I'm not making comparisons between the two attires. I'm not that crazy yet.

That said, not all is rosy in the land of the rising sun, as according to an article posted by the Mainichi Daily News, the proliferation of slacks hints at the demise of schoolgirl skirts. At first I couldn't believe my eyes and thought that it was a solitary incident in some remote school, and sure enough, that was the case, but after reading through the entire piece, a comment by the spokesman of the biggest school uniform manufacturer suggests that this trend may catch on:

"Of about 10,000 schools that we supply, only a few dozen have slacks as part of their uniform," he says, adding that trousers started being added about five or six years ago, mainly in colder parts of the country and the Kansai area. "Still, I haven't heard of a school that has slacks in its uniform stopping the practice, so I guess it will gradually start to spread."

My reaction:

That was pretty much the last straw for me. The thought that one day schoolgirls will go about their daily business wearing pants did nothing but make me curl into a fetal position, sobbing away in anguish.

Yeah, yeah, I know there are many arguments that one can present which justifies its benefits, but bear in mind I'm a shallow, fanservice driven ronery otaku, so that's all there is to it. One of the few beautiful things left in this sordid world, and it might be taken away from me some day. Might as well end my miserable life now.

Why not finish me off in one shot?

Posting seifuku in hopes this tragedy will never manifest.

Still, it were to be implemented, I'd imagine otakus finding a way to make a fetish out of it, but in the mean time, we're safe:

Especially when they wore black underwear underneath those baju kurungs (which is the long white top with the long skirt ones) We can see it perfectly, from the lacy trimmings of the bra towards the clasp at the back…

Haha. that’s a laugh. What’s next? put hijab on ‘em. Made ‘em looks like those strict arab countries women? The reason why Malaysia is not as strict as those arab countries is it’s a multi-cultural country. Those remarks on the uniform are on a totally baseless facts and reason, those NGO’s should really STFU, rather just making useless newslines.

Well, I figure if I was going to a Japanese public school, I’d want the option of wearing slacks – skirts are frickin’ cold in the wintertime, but they sure beat slacks in the summertime.

Ah it’s up to the individual when it comes to uniforms at times. The students nowadays have lots of innovation juices running in their minds and if they want to make themselves sexier, they’ll find a way to go around the system and tailor their official uniforms to fit their needs. XD

Don’t worry, our anime and cosplayers will never wear slacks, and even if this does catch on I am sure there will be an option leaving only the hot chicks in skirts and the not so hot in slacks. But if they do succeed, and the Zettai Ryouiki is harmed in the process, there will be hell on earth.
