I Dream Of Kigurumi
Replayed your favorite heroine's route for the 1000th time? Finally ripped a hole in that Tamaki-nee dakimakura of yours? Spent your life savings on that Candy Girl but found out her to be lacking in the conversation department? Gained the initiative to actually find a real girlfriend but disappointed as she did not live up to your expectations? Why not combine the best of both 2D and 3D worlds and dress her up in a Kigurumi?
Who am I kidding. Otakus? Girlfriends? As sordid as it is, it certainly did not discourage this bunch from gearing up in rubber suits as they take cosplay to the next level. While it's been around for quite some time, Kigurumi cosplay does not seem as well received as the conventional one that we've been acquainted with for some unknown reason. I mean, now everyone can do it too since you'd be wearing a latex mask the whole time, so even if you look like something a mother might think twice about loving, cosplaying as your favorite character is no longer an impossible dream. In hindsight, it hasn't exactly stopped some from doing so anyway, but hey!
If they're going to do a Hatsune Miku live concert, this is the only way to go.

By the way, from Natski’s information (kigurumi-ska.com) only 95% are dudes. Such as, all the Studio Sigma (the mask creator) models are females. For more info come to Kunco’s room.

Ah, some of them are cute. Besides, the mistery created by the mask and the tight fitting of the bodysuit they have for “skin” are major fetishes of mine. It would be nice if the protagonist of “V For Vendetta” were a man trapped in a kigurumi costume.

i chat with people online who do the kagurumi, and i think its pretty cool.:wink: if you wanna check out if they’re chicks or dudes.. their arm and leg size can do..i know that all the ones with black robe and red ties are dudes..and the ones waiting at the front of the train are dudes:eek: ..but pretty much the rest are chicks.

This is interesting as it concerns the concept of the mask and how people alter and assume identities. Kigurumi seems to allow them to step outside out the ‘real’ world and into the colorful, ideal anime realm; and they cease to be a regular human being, but a cute animated character.

I’m a girl. Well, no, a 27 year old woman. Caucasian. If my height could squeeze into one of these, I would try for fun and photos. My fiance says very seriously that he’d be scared of me in this, though he loves Ａｎｉｍｅ/manga/games. Even when I cosplay like normal, it’s just too weird doing it with your favorite characters, it’s like sacrilegious. We take cosplay very seriously and do become another person with my costumes on. This whole body transformation, though, it takes it to another level. My fiance is a heterosexual male and I am a bisexual female, we’d be terrified ｔｏ do it with one of these. They are perfection but almost eerily so and unnatural. But we cannot help but to feel impressed with these costumes. If you find a girl who wears these and will do it, and you like it, OK, good for you? Or you could get a guy to wear one and do it from behind and pretend he is female. I think there are worse things you could do.

mhhh… i love kigurumi and recently bought a suit and mask… cant wait to try it on. i’m a guy and hope it will fit!
i think kigurumi is the closest way you can get to your favorite anime character and its fascinating that even guys can look cute and sexy like girls in those suits, even indifferent which age ^^ greetz to all kigs!
