Unlimited Weaboo Works: GACC Coverage [Day 2]

I lost a bet. So there. Didn't have the stamina to keep up for 30 seconds let alone break the record set by this guy. ＿|￣|○

I had a feeling was going to be way better than the first and it was! Unfortunately, because I reached the site late, I missed out on the earlier events which included a performance by the same band yesterday playing Daybreak's Bell among their repertoire for the day ;-; I did however made it in time to see Akira of Lucky Star strutting her stuff, so it was all good so far.

Went on the usual strolling about to see what's new, and lo, there he(she) was, in the flesh, Simon! I've been praying for a Gurren Lagann cosplayer ever since the show aired and I finally got to see one here ^^

ORE TACHI WO DARE DA TO OMOTTE YAGARU?!

More vidyas for people to play, but I wasn't interested, save for Melty Blood: AC which was vacant, surprisingly. Sat down after a while, and the emcees suddenly announced that it was time for the seiyuu autograph session tickets to be given out. It was a Guess The Song type quiz, but I missed out the first chance to go on stage, which was unfortunate since the titles being belted out were really simple.

Project Runway: Otaku Edition

Because someone up there hates me, each time I went on stage(apologies to the GACC committee for jumping so hard on it ^^;), there will always be one song which I can't guess. After trying for a grand total of 4 times, I managed(with assistance from CZero) to obtain a ticket myself, which was funnily enough, number 4 in line....

Before the cosplay competition kicked off, the audience were given a treat in a form of a skit by the committee members which involved two of their members playing a game of live Street Fighter on stage. There were even people present on stage to handle the "special effects" and a random appearance by Goku. Lulz ensue.

Roamed around a little more before the competition to take shots of cosplayers.

Honey senpai's one of the contestants later, but this was the best shot I could take.

I would prefer Elwing or Xecty, but Sheena's fine too ^^

The cosplay competition finally went underway and here are some of the contestants that piqued my interest

This contestant almost had Akira Kogami down to pat. Too bad she's not exactly the best liked character from the show.

Around 2 or so, it was time for the appearance of a special guest whom everyone's been dying to meet:

Though he's not exactly my favorite male VA, seeing Masakazu Morita live on stage felt awesome, as he was able to whip the crowd into a frenzy, especially when uttering that BANKAI line. The seiyuu was then posed a series of questions by the committee and a couple from lucky fans who had theirs selected. While he answered them with utmost enthusiasm, it was a pity that the two TL'ers beside him weren't too competent in English and thus was unable to convey Masakazu-san's reply to its fullest meaning. Good thing I have weaboo level Japanese to aid me.

With all said and done, it was finally time for the autograph session, and probably one of the only the few Baccano fans present, I had him sign the Baccano clear folder which I bought while in Area 11. He was surprised about it too, considering his reaction, although the character he voiced was nowhere to be found, so I awkwardly asked him to sign anywhere.

Right after that, I had make my way home, as I needed to take the earliest train home, which most unfortunate, as judging from kurogane's report, I missed out on A LOT ;-; Even so, I had tonnes of fun here, and would love to return here sometime in the future. Shin out.
