D.I.Y Yukine’s Get A Girl Stuck In A Gym Equipment Storage Room With You Charm~

Seeing as how everyone on the blogosphere and their cats have covered Clannad 17, I figured I should attempt something different. I assume you've also watched it for yourself and is now aware of that epic tent pitching, erection inducing gym equipment storage room scene featuring Tomoya and Kyou. Now, you might also want try out the charm for yourself but has doubt on its effectiveness. Look no further, as the sole member of the Atarashii Prelude Anime Mythbusters® crew, I have taken upon the duty of trying out firsthand as to whether or not it truly works. Incidentally, Kurogane himself wanted to attempt this as well, but I'll go ahead with it first ^^;
First off you're going to need two ordinary 10 yen coins like so:

lulz photosh00p 2x sharpen
Now, rewatch that episode again and see how it was all done.

Impossible? Not with my infinite spiral energy it isn't!

You're going to need Zen like concentration for this.

lawlwut? Okay, fine.
After 20 minutes of trying I only managed to get one coin standing upright. I give up.

Damn you KEY. Damn you, Kyoto Animation. Damn you for giving me false hopes. My dreams of being alone with Kyou in a gym equipment storage room as I contemplate all the perverted things I would do to her, but bailing out due to cowardice is all but ruined. Bawwwwwwwww ;-;
Tomoya's words did little to assure me, as despite his initial skepticism, he did wind up being in that envious situation with my beloved Kyou(ignoring the fact he didn't take advantage of it) and bearing witness to a side of Kyou that not even her own twin sister has seen.

And as such, that so called charm is nothing but a myth to entice ronery otakus such as myself to attempt something as pointless as this, and is therefore BUSTED [/rage] Perhaps one day, when all the conditions have been met(me being in front of a girl with droopy eyes sitting in the library in a Japanese high school) I might attempt this once again, ;-; Wonder if I should write in and ask the real Mythbusters dudes to give this experiment a shot, as they'd probably have a much higher success rate...
tl;dr
I had too much time on my hands and phailed miserably.

Okay, that was pretty stupid(I DID IT FOR THE LULZ), but it does drive home the perennial point that *gasp* anime and real life don't mix. I know, shocking isn't it? Remember kids, the only way you're going to get any kind of action is through plain old effort or with the help of some GHB. Shin out.

LOL. I tried with 20 sen coins too. It failed.

I even tried with glue but it wouldn’t gel ._.

I think the Mythbusters guys would end up building the uber precise robot (like they always do) to solve this one.
Although, to know that this is humanly impossible is depressing.

I don’t have 10 yen coins to be able to try this.
February 12th, 2008 - 10:06
It’s really really easy with HK 20 cent or 2 dollar coins. Took me all of ten seconds or so.
February 12th, 2008 - 12:42
ya need thicker coins for teh stability. Some singapore/nz $2 dollar coins might work.
But its not the charm. Tomoya’s just plain lucky. Otherwise he won’t have been able to balance the coins in the first place.
I loev that ep anyways. You guys can have Kyou, I’ll take Tomoya kthxbai. :D

Do the ridges on the coins help or hurt?
I imagine a very level surface is needed also.
I want to try this… Watch me actually get it but then forget to say the phrase 3 times before the coins fall. orz

Apparently it helps. Mine were the newer issue ones, so it was all smooth.
February 13th, 2008 - 22:54
Lol, manage to do it with a pair of Oz $2 coins. Now to see if kami-sama nice enough to give me some hawt Kyou lovin’ in a shed…I wish (^_^).

I tried it with 2 one Peso coins, but I could only balance one; I think my table’s on an incline or something.
February 14th, 2008 - 17:18
At least you managed to get one standing. Mine doesn’t want to balance themselves at all.

I think there was a reason why the chances of failure is high.
Because not everyone can freely use the charm as they like =D
XD
