Winter Watchings

Winter is nearly upon us, meaning a whole slew of new shows to start watching. This season certainly looks much more promising compared to what Fall had for us so far. Here are my pickings:

Easily one of my favorite shows of Fall, Minami-ke will be getting a second season as early as remake by another production team in January. While I'm elated about the news, I have to express disappointment over the fact they are not going to retain the original character designs, while the new ones look pretty bland to me. Hopefully, this alone would not be detrimental to the quality that the first season has set for itself.

Based on Persona 3 of the Shin Megami Tensei series of RPGs, this adaption serves as a sequel to the game, with events taking place 10 years after the original. Being a fan of the game, I would definitely try this out but be cautious as the same time, as other game to anime productions such as Disgaea and Devil May Cry have left a bad taste in my mouth....

If you can't tell already, this is a harem anime, which if of course based on the visual novel of the same title. All I know of the plot is that it revolves around 2 sisters heavily in debt and found themselves taking jobs as maids, serving 3 other girls. Uh huh. Well, at least it's got bishoujos, so all's good.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei Dainiki
The Pink Supervisor is back with his harem students for round 2. Still, it's taking subbers forever to do an episode(1 episode left unsubbed at time of writing) from season 1, so here's to hoping more reliable groups show up to take this on.

The fact that Kazuya Kuroda(of Vandread and Chrno Crusade fame) will be doing the character designs is reason alone for me to catch this. Also note that it's based on Koume Keito's manga, who incidentally does Hentai, like Kuroda-sama himself. Put 2 godly H artists together and you get an extremely fappable(judging from the manga scans) anime which talks about a traveling merchant who encounters a wolf girl on one of his trips, who brings him good fortune through her wisdom. Alas, her true nature draws unwanted attention from the church.
Other notable animes:
Macross Frontier - I've never touched any of the Macross series, so this would be a good time to start, and it looks good, judging from the trailer.
Ah! Megami-sama Tatakau Tsubasa - AMG was one of the few manga titles that I actually bothered buying, which is safe to say I would be catching this as well. Then again, with the disappointment that was You're Under Arrest: Full Throttle, I'm not expecting much from this...
H2O ~Footprints In The Sand~ - Anoter eroge turned anime title, saw promotional posters in many anime merchandise shops when I was in Japan, and it does look pretty good, judging from the artwork alone.
That concludes my list for the time being, but as always, I'm ever ready to try out anything that gets released for the first few episodes and then deciding from there. Shin out.

Eagerly waiting foe Macross Frontier and hoping it doesn’t suck. Other than that, Persona, Minami-ke, They are my noble masters and Spica & wolf are on my ‘to watch’ list as well ^^.
